My journals hold my Love for God and Prayers; some of my questions, concerns, and annoyances, that I share with God. My journals include my milestones, where God has answered my many prayers for myself and other people. My journal is my treasure chest where I get the opportunity to express myself to God, and where God responds to me. Look for examples in Chapter 5 of my book God Speaks.
In difficult seasons I return to my Journals to keep me going. I re-read God’s promises He has declared and promises He has kept, to remind me that He will come through for me. God will help me again like He did all the other times. I fall in love with Him all over again.
Many times, songs are encouragement, comfort, and time to reflect on God’s goodness and all the things he is doing and has done in your life.
Worship songs inspire you to keep going, to keep trying, to be still and know that God is with you, holding you, and will never leave you. You are not alone!
I was supported by family, friends and new acqaintances.
Some of the messages was truly overwhelming.....
When my dad was a young man, he struggled to support his family and worried that life was not unfolding as he had anticipated. In those days, every penny of his paycheck was spent, leaving him broke week after week, with insufficient funds.
With Mum not working, Dad felt an immense amount of stress. One day, while in his usual spot in the garden, he pondered how he would pay the bills and feed the kids. Unbeknownst to him, God was calling out to him.
God called his name three times: "Calvin, Calvin, Calvin." Initially, Dad thought it was one of the children being cheeky, hiding and calling out to him.
However, he quickly realized it couldn't be any of his kids, as they would have addressed him as "Dad." The voice called again, softly, "Calvin, Calvin, Calvin." Dad wondered if someone was playing tricks on him. He looked around, searching for the source of the voice.
Then, it called a fourth time, this time in a firmer tone: "Greg!" (a pet name he was known by, as many people from the Caribbean are often called by names other than their birth names). "Why are you worried? What are you worrying for? Does worrying help you?" Dad answered, "No!"
After this encounter, he stopped worrying about his troubles and began focusing on finding solutions.
He felt a sense of peace and a quiet determination to forge a path forward.
Dad has shared this experience numerous times but was initially too afraid to mention it, fearing others might think he had lost his mind.
Has God spoken to you before, and have you hesitated to share it?
Don’t worry; you are among the fortunate ones who have heard God's voice.
